DOZENS of people smashed the Guinness World Record for the biggest rugby scrum in aid of a Somerset cancer charity.
The event took place on Saturday at the BASC ground in Burnham, with the 191 participants easily beating the previous record of 68.
The event was organised by The Somerset Breakthrough Breast Cancer Group, and featured two teams kitted out in blue and pink, with the charity’s name printed on their shirts.
Organiser Christine Piper said: “As a group we are over the moon, a lot of work has gone into this and to hear the cheers go up not only from the crowd of onlookers but from those who took part it was worth it so on behalf of all the Somerset Breakthrough Group thank you all for your support.”
