North Somerset Council has refuted claims that its proposed sea defence scheme will not protect Weston's seafront hotels and bars.Businessman Chris Kimitri told the Weston & Somerset Mercury last week that leading council officials revealed to traders at a special meeting the scheme would not protect some of their businesses.But a council spokesman said: "The proposed scheme has been designed to protect all the properties in the town from flooding, including all the seafront properties. "This is not just the view of the council, but also the coastal engineers who have designed the scheme and the Environment Agency.
