Secret animals at the quarry

OWLS, ferrets, snakes and mice went on tour this week, when a Somerset animal charity brought its furry residents to Weston.
Secret World Wildlife Rescue is based in East Huntspill, and is currently fundraising for an animal hospital to supplement its work caring for hurt and orphaned creatures.
And as part of a drive to raise its profile, the charity took a number of its animals to the Old Town Quarry in South Road for an open day on Saturday.
Families were able to enjoy a friendly flutter on a keenly contested ferret race (word of warning: Don’t bet on Bob, he runs the wrong way!) and get a close-up look at the animals.
