Secret World Wildlife Rescue, in East Huntspill, opened its doors for the bank holiday weekend and welcomed 2,500 visitors from across the South West.

The Squeaks and Beaks weekend allowed people to get up close and personal with a host of birds, including the centre’s resident owls.

Event organiser Jeremy Duxbury said: “People were keen to learn how they can help birds and other wildlife. Children made recycled bird feeders and built wood piles to help hedgehogs.”
