A Somerset animal rescue charity has said it is delighted to welcome on board a new chair of its trustees.

Entrepreneur Paul Edwards has taken on the role at Secret World Wildlife Rescue, in East Huntspill, after a successful career in scientific research.

Paul described Secret World as a ‘worthwhile’ cause and said he took the role on to ‘make a difference’.

He said: “I wanted to give something back and Secret World is a very worthwhile cause where I can make a difference to wildlife. It plays an essential role in rescuing injured and orphaned animals (and) by inspiring people to appreciate nature, we can encourage love and care for the wildlife around us.”
