A SECURITY guard is being paid to patrol a Weston bungalow at night to prevent the disabled residents from being attacked by youths. The wheelchair-bound pensioners in Douglas Court on the Bournville estate have been continually terrorised by teenagers at night. The vandals have kicked down their fence, spray painted their bungalow and thrown objects at the windows at night.Several of their flowerpots have been smashed against the ground during the attacks. Landlord North Somerset Housing hired the security guard on Sunday to patrol the bungalow and 12 other neighbouring properties at night. The guard visits the bungalow four times for 20 minute periods when it is dark. It is the first time the housing association has employed a security guard to patrol its properties.Police officers have sprayed the residents' fence with anti-climb paint and attached plastic spike strips to prevent yobs getting into the bungalow's garden.PC Justine O' Reilly said: "It's really distressing and frightening these poor pensioners."We will be liaising with the residents and monitoring the situation to gain evidence to prosecute whoever is terrorising this couple.
