Sedgemoor District Council has handed out a host of grants, adding up to nearly £10,000 – and two Burnham events will benefit from some of the cash.

BOS Fest, which is a music festival being launched this year, has been handed £1,500 as a start-up grant.

The event is set to take place on September 9 and will incorporate live music and performing arts.

As well as this, the town’s Comic Con event, which is being held on August 19, has been handed £1,000.

This event will include live entertainers, special guests, a retro arcade and a host of collectables on sale throughout the day.

These two events in the town are set to attract big crowds for the summer months.
