Sedgemoor District Council rejects plans for flats in town

A former hardware store in Burnham will not be turned into flats after Sedgemoor District Council rejected the planning application this week.

The site, in Regent Street, shut back in 2015 and has remained vacant since.

However, plans for seven flats in its place were rejected on the grounds it would ‘hurt the character of the area’.
