THE number of visitors to Wraxall's Tyntesfield Estate has doubled this year.More than 102,000 people visited the historic mansion during 2006, with more than 1,000 people a day touring the site during the summer months.Tyntesfield visitor services manager Rebecca Aubrey-Fletcher said: "We're delighted that so many people have come to enjoy Tyntesfield this year."Visitor numbers have exceeded our own predictions."It has been a very exciting year and we are looking forward to 2007 when the conservation building work around the estate will start."Father Christmas will be visiting Tyntesfield on December 9, 10, 16 and 17.There will be a Christmas trail around the grounds and entry to the hall which will be decorated with a festive theme.The rest of the house will remain closed but festive refreshments will be on sale and the trust shop will be open for Christmas present shopping and the sale of trees and wreaths.There will also be two special carol concerts in the Tyntesfield chapel on December 9 and 16 at 3pm and 7.30pm.The concerts cost £15 per person and booking on 01275 461900. The trail around the grounds and hall and a visit to Santa costs £5 for children and is free for adults. No need to book.
