A SEARCH has been launched for budding film-makers of all ages to make their own movie - with the chance to see it projected onto a full size cinema screen.The Curzon Community Cinema in Clevedon is inviting entries in three age categories for a special film competition it is running as part of its first ever film festival in May this year.The festival will see the historic cinema screening song and dance movie classics from Hollywood as well as gems from Bollywood and around the world - old and new.The film competition will run alongside the festival with the best entries being shown as 'film is competition' during the festival.There will be prizes for the winners which will be presented at a gala award ceremony on May 13.Curzon trustee Geoff Hale said: "This is a very exciting new venture for the Curzon and demonstrates our commitment to encourage and promote new film-making talent."We want people to enter our competition by sending in their original films recorded on DVD and lasting no more than 10 minutes."You never know, we may discover some major new talents in film-making and performance right here on our doorstep."The festival also marks 10 years of the Curzon becoming a community cinema and runs from May 4-13 as part of North Somerset Arts Week.There are three age categories for the competition which are under 14, 14-19 and 19 plus, and entries must be submitted on DVD by April 27.For further information contact Geoff Hale on 01275 873974 or e-mail geoff.hale1@btinternet.co.uk
