TWO teenagers suffered facial injuries after they were assaulted by a group of youngsters in Worle.

The incident happened on Friday at about 8pm when the teenagers were walking through the Queensway shopping centre towards Marlborough Drive.

At the junction with Tavistock Road they were approached by about 15 youths, aged 15-18. There was a verbal altercation before one of the victims was punched in the face.

The victim and his friend ran off towards Clovelly Road, but they were chased by the group who knocked the victim to the floor and punched and kicked him.

His friend intervened but was also punched in the face. A witness then shouted at the youths to stop and they ran away.

The first victim, aged 16, suffered jaw injuries and was treated at the Bristol Royal Infirmary. The second victim, aged 15, suffered facial injuries and was treated at Weston General Hospital.
