THE M5 was closed this lunchtime (Fri) following a seven-car pile-up between Weston and Burnham.

A red Passat, a black BMW and a brown Kia were all involved in a crash between junctions 21 and 22 which blocked all three northbound lanes at around 12.40pm.

A spokesman for Avon and Somerset police said all three lanes were reopened at 1.45pm after cars were towed from the outside lanes.

He said the fire services were called to help clear the road of oil and debris and did not believe anyone was injured.
