A BUDGET fashion store is the latest to sign a lease at the Sovereign Shopping Centre in Weston.

Budget fashion retailer Pep & Co has agreed a five-year deal with the shopping centre’s new owner Vixcroft to open a store in August.

Pep & Co has been launched by former Asda chief executive Andy Bond, and is aimed at mums on a budget. The shop, which has been compared to Primark in the national media, will open in two units opposite the 99p Store.

Vixcroft bought the Sovereign Shopping Centre in March for £30million, with its chief executive promising to revitalise the site.

Simon Jones of Vixcroft, said: “These are significant lettings which not only vindicate our investment in the Sovereign Centre but only underline its position as the prime retail destination for the town and North Somerset area.

“We are in discussion with North Somerset Council in relation to further improvements towards revitalisation of the town centre.”

Holland & Barrett, currently in Meadow Street, will relocate to the shopping centre later this year, after signing a 10-year lease.

Fashion retailer Roman has more than doubled the size of its shop, and has signed a five-year lease after originally signing a temporary contract.

Footwear company Deichmann and jeweller Warren James have also signed 10-year deals.
