PLUCKY pensioners at a Nailsea nursing home are asking noisy teens to pipe down so they can get a good night's sleep.Bleary eyed residents at Laurel Court home say youngsters who meet in the Scotch Horn car park next to their centre are keeping them up until the early hours, chatting and playing music from their car stereos.Now the fed up OAPs have written to police asking them to crackdown on the noisy teenagers.Laurel Court home manager Marie Watts said: "Our youngest resident is well into their 70's and the eldest is 101."The youngsters are noisy and if we ask them to move on, then they do, but they keep coming back."The noise is disturbing our residents and at their time of life it is not something they appreciate."A number of the residents have written to the local police complaining about the noise on a Friday and Saturday night."Yobs have also caused thousands of pounds of damage to the Scotch Horn Leisure Centre.In the last few weeks hooligans have smashed nine windows, causing £2,500 of damage.They have also sprayed graffiti over the building, ripped up plants from the rose garden and stolen a bench from the Scotch Horn special needs day centre.Scotch Horn Centre manager Amanda Burroughs said: "We have been suffering with vandalism since 2004 and it is becoming very costly."We think a catapult was used to smash the windows recently."Local police say they are aware of the problems in the Scotch Horn car park and regularly patrol the area on weekend nights.A police spokesman said: "We are aware of the problem with youths gathering in the Scotch Horn car park and causing a disturbance to the residents of Laurel Court. We have also been patrolling the area at night."Anyone behaving antisocially will be dealt with."If anyone has information about the broken windows or about the whereabouts of the missing bench they should contact us.
