The British politician led a talk about community energy, storage and saving for the people of Wedmore in the hopes of finding the ‘holy grail’ to reduce carbon emissions in their area.

Possible next steps include switching to LED street lights, using biofuel from local nature reserves, ‘greening’ key local buildings and installing smart meter schemes.

Green Wedmore chairman Steve Mewes said: “Everyone can make a difference and the easiest way is to think about how much electricity or heating you use and how you can cut back.”
