FANS of football and meat will be able to combine their passions through an inventive butcher’s innovative new product - World Cup sausages.

Nick Hansford, who owns Hansford village stores in The Square in Shipham, has come up with the novelty way of celebrating the footballing feast which kicks off in Brazil yesterday (Thursday).

Clever Nick has conjured up a series of tasty sausage recipes themed around the competing nations, with tasty bangers on the menu representing every team in the tournament.

Mr Hansford said: “I’ll be coming up with some amazing recipes to create my sausages over the next few weeks. Locals can expect a few surprises.”

Nick has researched each team involved thoroughly to find which ingredient is best suited to each country.

Mr Hansford said: “A few countries like Paraguay have provided a challenge, but it’s been great fun to do.”

The sausages will go on sale at the butchers on the day of each match.
