THE owners of a well-known ski centre have appointed a top American businessman to help give their company the Walt Disney feel.Former Connecticut-based entrepreneur John Foley has been called in as general manager at High Action in Churchill, which incorporates Avon Ski Centre, The Action Centre and the Lyncombe Lodge Hotel.Mr Foley says he wants to bring in a Disney-style feel to the business and make it as successful as possible. The 63-year-old said: "I'd like to make working here and visiting here more like the Walt Disney experience."Whenever I've been to Disney I always see a guy in a suit picking up litter as soon as he sees it instead of waiting for the cleaners. "We have already put in a new £20,000 lift and bought new archery and air rifle equipment."We want to provide more activities. We already do a lot but we are looking to start mountain boarding. This is like snowboarding on wheels down a grass slope. It sounds crazy but young people love it."I've been visiting the area since the turn of the millennium and I've just fallen in love with the Mendips."Before taking up the post Mr Foley owned his own manufacturing business in America.
