A skittles night has raised money for a bone cancer charity in memory of a girl from Worle.

Melanie Ling is part of Team Bones, formed by Sue and Andy Collard when their 11-year-old daughter Mary died from bone cancer in 2012.

She organised a skittle night at the 49 Club in Baker Street, Weston, at the weekend where more than 50 people took part in a competition and a raffle to raise £300.

Melanie will be walking the Machu Picchu trail, in Peru, in September and is hoping to raise £1,000 for the Bone Cancer Research Trust.

She said: “I want to thank everyone for coming along, whether it was taking part in the skittles or donating, buying a raffle ticket and watching the games. We all had great fun.”

To donate, visit Melanie’s JustGiving site and search Mary’s Team Bones on Facebook to find out about future fundraising events.
