THE sky is the limit for a brave mum-of-two whose fund-raising dedication for Weston Hospicecare knows no bounds.
Nikki Rogers, who lives on the Bournville estate, took part in a tandem skydive on Saturday – and has so far managed to raise around £1,000 for the vital charity.
She said: “It was both terrifying and exhilarating. It was so peaceful floating to earth through the clouds after the freefall.
“I had such a fantastic sense of achievement when it was over, and would highly recommend the experience to anyone who’s ever thought of doing a skydive.”
Nikki has also completed the Weston Hospicecare Midnight Beach Walk twice and the Mercury Mendip Challenge.
Her fund-raising mission started when her mum Agnes was diagnosed with malignant melanoma two years ago.
Agnes attends the day hospice on a weekly basis and Nikki is given support by a hospice councillor.
Nikki added: “The day hospice is so important to mum - it enables her to get out and socialise every week.
“It’s a routine for her and she finds that treatments such as reflexology whilst she is there really help to relax her. “I wouldn’t have known where to turn if hadn’t been for the hospice.”
