Small tax rise for village

YATTON residents are set to pay slightly more for their village council in the forthcoming year than they paid this year.

YATTON residents are set to pay slightly more for their village council in the forthcoming year than they paid this year.

The amount of money parish clerk Crispin Taylor has recommended the authority asks for on 2010/11 equates to £64.96 for an average band D house, up from £62.39.

The council's spending plans include a reduction in the street light bill from £7,500 to £4,000 and an extra £5,000 for improvements at Hangstones recreation ground.

Members will vote on the budget at Monday's parish council meeting at Hangstones Pavilion at 7.30pm on Monday.
