The liquid can be put on items and shows up on a thief's clothing when ultra violet light is shone on it.

Each SmartWater pack is different - so police can then identify which residence it came from.

People living in Grasmere Drive will be visited by police with the packs.

Anyone living in this road who would like officers to come round can call 0845 456 7000.
