A FUND-RAISING car wash will take place next week to raise money for Burnham's lifeboat charity.

Soap Our Saloons will take place on January 23 and again on February 6, weather permitting, to celebrate the RNLI SOS Day.

The Burnham team, who save lives at sea by providing a 24-hour search and rescue service, aim to wash the salt and dirt from the recent snow off cars in return for a donation.

The volunteers will also be offering SOS-themed refreshments, although at this present time they have not decided whether to go with Sample Our Sandwiches, Sizzle Our Sausage or a Sup Our Soup theme.

The car washes will run from 10am-2pm at Burnham lifeboat station.
