THE last flower show to be organised by the Uphill Horticultural Society took place at the weekend.
There was an array of flowers and displays on view at the 68th show in the Victory Hall in Old Church Road, as well as a selection of crafts including wood carvings, paintings and embroidery.
Uphill Primary School children made seaside models and fruit and vegetable monsters.
The show will be run by Uphill Village Society in the future, and could focus on other areas aside from flowers.
Dorothy Butcher and society president Denis Salisbury were each given special awards for their support of the show.
Secretary Liz Britton was also recognised for her work for the society over the past nine years.
She said: “It is sad that our society has finished, but we are confident that the village society will ensure the Uphill annual show continues to remain at the heart of the village calendar.”
