Singers from across Somerset have taken part in a choral workshop.

Somerset Choral Society held a Come and Sing Messiah session at St Mary’s Church in Wedmore where more than 80 people sang a variety of pieces.

A spokesman said: “More than 80 singers from North Somerset, Sedgemoor, Mendip and South Somerset gathered together for a workshop run by Somerset Choral Society musical director, Edward Goater, who rehearsed four choruses with the singers over two sessions in the morning and afternoon.”

The group then performed a short concert at the end of the day, culminating in a rendition of Handel’s Hallelujah.

Somerset Choral Society rehearse from 7.30-9.30pm every Wednesday at Sidcot School in Winscombe.
