A Weare woman has joined a nationwide charity bringing happiness to terminally ill children.

Theresa Body is one of five women who create and send personalised embroidered teddy bears to children with heart conditions or life-limiting illnesses.

Hearts, Heroes and Angels – formally known as Heart To Heart UK – is made up of five mums who donate their spare time to creating the toys for the children. They also send angel bears to parents who have lost their baby or child.

The charity – which was established in 2013 – gains sponsorship for each baby, child or ‘angel’ to send them their own personalised warrior or angel teddy bear, complete with a sponsorship certificate.

The women have so far sent out more than 2,700 teddies, including specialised bumble bees to the injured children following the Manchester Bombing in May.
