Somerset Town celebrates its people during special event

A Somerset town celebrated its produce and its people with a day dedicated just to them.
Hundreds of people basked in the sun last weekend to celebrate Axbridge Day.
Almost 500 people flocked to the event – which was organised by the town’s sports and social club.
Pauline Ham, the chairman of the club and the town’s mayor, said the event was ‘fabulous’.
She added: “The people who ran the stalls and the band were all Axbridge people and it was really good fun.”
The town square was closed to traffic and picnic tables took over, giving people plenty of room to enjoy a drink and some delicious street food prepared by local venders.
This is the first year the event has been held and Ms Ham said it will return next year in some capacity.
