A health and wellbeing day saw different Weston organisations join together to help the homeless.

Somewhere To Go (STG), in The Boulevard, teamed up with the Health Trainers to give rough sleepers the chance to speak with nurses, dentists, and vets.

Help and advice was also available from organisations such as the YMCA and drug and alcohol addiction treatment charity Addaction.

Board chairman Mike Cooper said: “On behalf of the board we are very pleased STG can hold this event which enables our members to have contact with the various organisations.”

Charity director Joan Eales added: “It makes a huge difference as some people are not aware what help is out there for them and it makes sure people get the help they require.”

This year saw a dentist lend their time to see some of the homeless as well as a foot-health specialist and some community nurses.

Around 50 people went through the door to use the services available to them.
