A BUS taking children with special needs home from school was attacked in the Bournville estate in Weston.The bus which takes children to and from Westhaven School in Uphill was set upon by a man with a stick who damaged the bus and frightened the children.One man whose nine-year-old son was on the minibus said: "The bus was attacked by a chap with a stick. He kept hitting the minibus windscreen and tried to get the bus driver."It really upset the children. When my son was brought back to me he was pretty shaken up. He didn't sleep that night and I understand a lot of children on the bus felt the same."The incident happened on December 11 in Bournville Road at the junction with Kensington Road. Six children were on the bus with a driver and an escort. The worried father from Milton, who did not wish to be named, said: "If it wasn't for the bus driver and escort I wouldn't let him go on the bus, but I've got complete confidence in them, they are absolutely excellent. I couldn't wish for anyone better."Police are investigating the incident.
