A SPECIAL police squad have taken on the task of finding out how a Weston woman died in the Caribbean last year.

Rosemary and John Walkley have enlisted the help for the Strange Deaths Abroad department to investigate the death of their daughter, Virginia Owen.

Mystery has shrouded the 48-year-old’s death ever since she was found by her brother emaciated and starved in her apartment last October.

After being taken to hospital, she died a few days later, leaving her parents pointing the blame at ex-boyfriend Hans Michelle Magnusson.

But despite arrest by police, the Swedish national was released without charge earlier this year.

Rosemary, aged 73, told the Mercury this week: “We’re never going to give up on finding out why she got into this condition.

“We’ve got a special police team looking into it now, and we’re glad they are making progress.

“It is heartbreaking what happened, it’s ruined our lives but we’re desperate to get to the bottom of it.”
