A SPONSORED bungee jump was held in Weston in memory of a man who died after a night out with friends.

Joseph Williams, aged 23, was taken to Frenchay Hospital, Bristol, with a bleed on the brain after he was ejected from VII nightclub in Princess Royal Square on August 19. He died in hospital on August 23. A man was arrested after the incident and remains on police bail.

His mother Lin Williams and her partner James Carter organised the event at The Windsor Castle pub in Weston and 15 friends and family members took the plunge to raise money for Frenchay Hospital. They raised about £500.

James said they hope to organise another fundraiser this year and plan to do a special event each year to raise money for the hospital and remember Joseph.
