THREE fundraisers are putting their fears aside for a sponsored swim with sharks in aid of Weston Hospicecare.
Kaya Evans and Sarah Livermore will swim off the Cornish coast this summer where they will hope to encounter blue sharks, basking sharks as well as other large marine mammals.
The fundraiser is one of the first ever charity shark dives in the UK.
Kaya Evans said: “It sounded a bit scary to start with, but now I can’t wait to get out there and see all this wildlife close-up and personal.
“Diving with sharks is something I had never thought about doing, but it will be an unforgettable experience and I’m glad I’ve got the chance to do it.
Sarah Livermore said: “Despite a little bit of anxiety, I’m excited to be taking part.
“There are 21 different types of shark that live in the waters off our coast, but we also hope to run into some dolphins, porpoises, whales or seals as well.
The dives are organised by Shark Cornwall and will be on August 18 and 25.
