WITH only a year to go until the 2012 Olympic Games in London, people in North Somerset are being urged to try their hand at a new sport.

The Hans Price Sport Centre in Weston is hosting a range of free activities, ranging from tai chi to zumba on July 23.

The event, organised as part of North Somerset Partnership’s Go4Life scheme, will take place between 10am-4pm and will see free taster sessions for activities such as badminton, yoga, cycling, handball, cheerleading, tri golf, line dancing and judo, among many others.

The centre’s fitness gym will also be open, and a number of health walks and jogging sessions will take place throughout the day.

People looking to learn tips on how to maintain a healthy diet can pick up advice at taster sessions on the day, while free copies of the Go4Life active directory will also be handed out.

For a full list of activities on the day or to register for workshop visit the Go4Life website, email go4life@n-somerset.gov.uk or call North Somerset Council’s sport and active lifestyle team on 01275 882730.
