A SPORTS charity bringing fun and volunteering opportunities to disadvantaged communities involved nearly 2,000 young people in six months.
North Somerset Council’s StreetGames aims to give young people the chance to enjoy sport while giving something back to their communities.
It aims to promote health and wellbeing and more than a third of those involved said they would have been indoors if it were not for the StreetGames sessions.
Lisa Perryman, from the council’s sports and active lifestyles team, said: “It’s up to the young people involved in the sessions to decide which sports they want to do, but football is always a favourite.”
Sessions are held on weekday evenings in Weston.
