Officers from North Somerset Council's Trading Standards visited a range of licensed premises in Weston to see whether wines sold 'by the glass' matched the descriptions.
In every case, wines purchased during the survey were found to be correctly described.
Retailers were also checked to see whether Eastern European wines sold locally complied with legal rules.
One Bulgarian red wine marked as 13 per cent abv had a strength of just 12.3 per cent, whila a bottle of rose from the same country marked as 12 per cent abv had a strength of 12.8 per cent.
