THE new police sergeant for Clevedon starts his new job today (Wed).Sgt Gareth Starr, the former sergeant for Weston's south ward, is taking over from Pete Abrams who resigned from the force after allegations of misconduct.The popular sergeant has been part of the police force for more than 15 years and is looking forward to getting to know his new patch.While working on Weston's estates, Sgt Starr set up a youth football team and worked closely with the neighbourhood management team to improve the community.He said: "I am hoping to set up more activities for youngsters and am looking forward to working with my new team.
