A TALL tale of a scary giant, magic beans and a loveable and talented cow called Daisy will be performed by an amateur dramatics group in Cheddar.

STARR Theatre Group will be performing Jack and the Beanstalk at the end of this month.

The story follows two brothers, Jack and Simple Simon, who are trying to please their poor old mother Dotty Trott.

The performance is staged in a traditional panto style - but with a few twists.

Audience participation is also a must.

Jack and the Beanstalk will be held at Cheddar Church House, opposite St Andrew's Church in Church Street, from January 27-30 at 7.30pm. An additional matinee performance will take place at 2.30pm on the Saturday.

Tickets, priced £8 for adults and £5 for children aged 14 and under, are available from Deane and Sons in Bath Street.
