POP band Level 42 and country singer Liz Carlisle are just some of the famous artistes who have recorded songs to raise cash for Lympsham Pre-school.The pre-school is releasing a CD of children's songs performed by rock, country, pop and folk stars, but organisers are now looking for someone to sponsor the venture.So far Mark King and Level 42, who had a string of hits in the 1980s, have recorded a cover version of Danny Kaye's Inchworm. Other artistes who have recorded songs include Edwina Hayes, American country star Liz Carlisle and Bruce Springsteen's backing singer Lisa Lowell.Staff at the pre-school are trying to raise £70,000 for a new building and will be selling the 15-track CD to raise cash for the fund. Other artistes expected to record tracks include Martyn Joseph and Reg Meuross as well as two Weston-based songsters.The CD is due to be released at the end of May.
