BEHIND-THE-SCENES talks are taking place over the proposed re-development of a tiny railway station into a major transport hub.Bosses from North Somerset Council, Network Rail and train operators First Great Western are in confidential discussions over the multi-million pound revamp of Worle Parkway.Proposals include fitting a one-mile dual rail track from the station to join the main Bristol to Taunton line and using council land next to the station for a massive car park.Extending the length of the platform to take longer trains and building a park and ride scheme are two other options on the table. The council has confirmed a bid of over £5m to fund works is timetabled for 2009.First Great Western regional manager Andrew Griffiths said it would probably be at least three years before any improvements were made.
