A WESTON hairdresser has been picked as the top young stylist in the country after impressing judges at a national competition.

Stefanie Shields, aged 18, beat seven other finalists with a long hairstyle based on a 1950s rock look to win the accolade at the Fellowship for British Hairdressing Competition.

Stefanie, who works at SMART: EST 73 salon in the Boulevard, said: “I was very nervous before going on stage but as a soon as I started working I just tried to enjoy it.

“It seemed to work and I loved the reaction I got from the audience, they really seemed to appreciate it.”
