1.30pm. 20.08.07 - THE popular Stert Island Swim was cancelled on Sunday due to bad weather. The RNLI and Burnham Area Rescue Boat (BARB) advised organisers to call off the event due to the strong winds and choppy seas.
THE popular Stert Island Swim was cancelled on Sunday due to bad weather.
The RNLI and Burnham Area Rescue Boat (BARB) advised organisers to call off the event due to the strong winds and choppy seas.
They felt they would be unable to launch safety vessels if they were needed so the annual race was cancelled.
It will not be possible to rearrange the event for another date this year due to the tides.
