‘Stolen’ car set on fire in Cheddar

A car that ‘appeared to be stolen’ was set alight in Cheddar in the early hours of this morning (Saturday).

A Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue crew from Cheddar was called to the scene in Birch Close at around 3.50am, and extinguished a vehicle which was ‘well alight’ using a hose reel jet and breathing apparatus.

Fire control informed police the blaze was started deliberately and the vehicle appeared to be stolen.
