Stormy weather has continued to have an impact on Weston-super-Mare today (Thursday) as shopfronts have been damaged, and the promenade flooded with water.

Storm Eleanor hit Weston yesterday, where torrential rain and high winds caused the promenade to flood and left homes without power.

More wind and rain followed overnight, leaving the Boots sign in High Street in a precarious position.

A cordon was put in place around the shop to keep people away from the sign, which appeared close to falling off.

Sylvie Biber’s pictures show how high tides continued to cause flooding along the seafront this morning.

The Met Office’s yellow weather warning remains in force until 7pm today.
