Thunderstorms are predicted for Weston-super-Mare later this week, although it should clear up on Friday in time for the Hazy Days Festival.

The Met Office has predicted stormy weather for the South West, starting at around 6am on Thursday and clearing by 6am on Friday.

The chief forecaster said the storms may miss many places, but where they do develop, intense downpours are likely which could bring about flooding.

Lightning and hail could also develop, prompting the Met Office’s yellow weather warning.

However, the weather forecast for Friday is currently sunny but cloudy – all good signs ahead of Hazy Days at the Tropicana on Friday and Saturday.
