Part of Strawberry Line to be closed for work

A small section of a major cycle route will be closed for two months while work is carried out.
The Shute Shelve tunnel on the Strawberry Line will be closed while Bristol Water completes reinstatement work following its instalment of part of a 30km pipeline through the tunnel.
A company spokesman said: “We had to vacate the tunnel because of the bat hibernation season.
“When Natural England allow, we will go back in to complete work.
“It is planned to be about eight weeks and we assume we will be allowed back in during April, so the tunnel should be open sometime in June.”
The company will be installing lights in the tunnel for future users of the line.
There will be diversions in place either side of the tunnel to minimise disruption.
