Streetlife: Toilet 'shambles' debate

COMPLAINTS over the state of public toilets in Weston-super-Mare's parks have been doing the rounds on Streetlife.
Many users were unhappy with the poor condition of the loos in both Grove Park and Clarence Park, with many criticising those who leave the toilets in a bad state for others.
James WB said: “I don’t begrudge paying 20p to use these toilets. However at least keep them clean.
“My wife is pregnant and upon entering them vomited at the stench. Unfortunately I was not there to help.
“People keep bringing this to the attention of the council, yet the problem still remains. I’m going to get to the bottom of this.”
Conor P said: “Twice I wanted to use the toilets near Grove Park and both times I couldn’t gain access. The whole business seems to be a shambles.”
Sylvia C called for toilet attendants to return.
She said: “Bring back the lovely ladies who used to look after them, I’m sure all our 20ps would pay their wages.
“They were always clean and safe when they (the attendants) were there, and lots more people would use them if they were looked after.”
And Philip P lamented: “This is just one more example of how far this Great Britain of ours is sinking beneath the waves. Previous generations wouldn’t have stood for it (and) would have taken pride in providing decent public services.”
