Strong winds are battering Weston-super-Mare this morning as Storm Hannah takes hold.

The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning, which is expected to last until 3pm.

Avon Fire and Rescue Service has been called out to two weather-related incidents in the area.

At 4.27am, crews were called to Riverside Holiday Village in Bleadon after a caravan awning became damaged in the high winds.

Firefighters helped the owners to dismantle the awning and pack it away.

Crews are currently in Bleadon Road after a marquee from a nearby playing field landed on the roof of a bungalow.

Firefighters from Weston were called out to the incident at 6.27am this morning.

Crews are using a triple extension ladder and roof ladder to cut away the marquee and make it safe.

Wind speeds of 45-55mph are expected inland today, with stronger gusts of around 60-70mph in coastal locations.

Delays on the roads and with public transport are expected and there could be some short-term loss of power due to fallen trees and branches.
