MUSIC has been resonating from Weston’s Winter Gardens over the past two weeks as youngsters showcase their amazing skills.

The 64th annual Weston Junior Arts Festival has produced a fantastic range of talent since it began on May 16.

Among the success stories at this year’s event, was Lele Nairne, who attends Priory Community School and lives in Kewstoke.

She entered four piano categories at this year’s festival and won three of them – adding three trophies to her growing collection of awards for piano and judo.

Proud dad Kevin said: “I just don’t know where Lele finds her energy because she is a non-stop dynamo of high level activity.

“Lele is a member of the British judo squad and she trains or competes in competitions approximately four times a week as well as having two piano lessons a week and is now finding the time to compose her own pieces, and keeping her blog updated.”

Details of the festival can be found at www.wintergardens.com

The event’s dance classes will get under way at The Playhouse on May 30 and will run until June 5. For more information ring the theatre on 01934 645544.
