n BUDDING entrepreneurs from Weston raised over £2,000 for charity by holding festivals, cake sales and non uniform days.
Pupils from St Georges Primary School and Hans Price Academy were given a £20 loan by St Paul’s Church in September and asked to multiply the amount for charity.
The teams held cakes sales, washed teachers’ cars, ran a winter festival, organised a non uniform day and even produced a CD of Christmas carols.
The team from St Georges was crowned the winner after students raised £984 by getting their whole school involved in the activities.
Lloyds TSB agreed to match fund the amount raised by the youngsters and all the money raised will go to Lighthouse, which runs 10 projects including the Foodbank and parenting courses to help people in need in Weston.
