Wedmore by Candlelight was held in the centre of the village on December 12 and residents and businesses pulled out all the stops to make it extra special.

Jack Frost, the Snow Queen, Morris dancers and Burtle Band all entertained the crowds while stomachs were filled with chocolate treats, hot pork sandwiches and the Somerset favourite, cider.

Children dressed up in festive costume while adults carried traditional lamplights around The Borough and Church Street to light their way.

Businesses were open late until 9pm and many offered a free tasty treat to entice hungry shoppers in.
