Sue Nicholls is hoping tor raise £2,000 for Cancer Research

A BURNHAM woman is in training to run the London marathon for cancer research, in tribute to her late husband.

Sue Nicholls, aged 65, is hoping to raise £2,000 before taking part in the event in April, and has already raised £185.

She said: “I’ve been doing a lot of running as part of my 16 week training plan, I’m very excited about taking part.

“So far I’ve done some half-marathons, and I’m hoping to do the full marathon in four-and-a-half hours.

“My husband Cliff died of bowel cancer in 2007, so I’m doing the marathon for him and for all the other people who have been affected by this illness.”
